History of Fantasy

As a little girl - I heard all the stories at bedtime and my mind wandered to that mystical time when I could envision riding a unicorn, petting one and feeding it as well.


Merlyn the magician and wizards fascinated me during the tales of Arthur and the Knights of the round table.

Dragons always scared me until I saw the movie "Dragon Heart".


Although this is all in the fantasy and mythical realm and not really based in reality, every child has heard all the stories, read all the books and now to make sure we don't ever forget any of this...they create movies about dragons, unicorns, wizards, etc.

The special affects are amazing. You can almost believe that it's real. So for this reason, I take you on a tour of my childhood memories of the Fantasy World - the world of mystical people and animals - the world that defies reality.

So....Do you believe in Fantasy?
Do you believe in Unicorns?
Do you believe in Dragons?
Do you believe in Fairies?
Do you believe in Goddesses?

You've heard the stories, you've seen pictures, now do you believe or not?

How long have these things been around? Since the beginning of time.

No one knows exactly when they started but the stories of fairies, unicorns, dragons and Goddesses have been here as far back as ancient times.

People have kept their beliefs, they have held fast to the stories as true.

They have managed to keep all of the fantasy world alive.
The movies also keep these stories alive and provide us with visual pictures of unicorns, fairies, dragons and goddesses.

So do you believe? This is the only question you need to answer.

Are there such things as fairies, dragons, unicorns, goddesses?

The ancient cultures believed they were all real. They have names, they have history, they have truth.

So do you believe?
